Here are a few ideas to keep you healthy while you enjoy yourself:
- Whenever possible, make your plate at least half vegetables. This will keep you satiated and promote good GI health.
- Drink lots and lots of water.
- Make smart choices with booze. Perhaps one fancy fruity frozen sugary flowery drink of fun followed by wine or distilled spirits with non-sugary mixers.
- Exercise! That is one of the best parts of travel. If you’re in Europe, you’ll walk everywhere. In the Caribbean, you’ll wind sail and kayak and in Central America, you’ll surf and hike!
- Look at menus online before you go out. You can plan with most healthful option this way.
- If you have a kitchen in your vacation space, cook local delicious food. Fun and good for you in SO many ways!
- Eat where the locals do. There will be healthful choices and great experiences.
- Go for a run or a swim before late sleepers awake. You’ll feel great all day!
- Bring snacks when you go out for the day so you won’t end up super hungry and make poor food choices later.
